It's been a few months since we've been ice skating, but here's a video to sum up all the fun we had on our field trips to the ice skating rink.
Just a reminder that Portfolio Day is tomorrow (Wednesday, May 22). We will see you there!

Science Fair Photos
After lots of hard work, the Kangaroos completed their very first Science Fair. We are incredibly proud of the time and dedication every Kangaroo put into their projects (as well as the Sharks and Roadrunners, too!) and would like to share some pictures highlighting the evening.
Also, here are our writers from the most recent CLASS assembly. Any of our Kangaroos who didn't present their work due to illness will be featured in April's assembly.

Science Fair Time!
The Science Fair is coming up THIS Wednesday, March 13th at 6:30. We'll be setting everything up at Montgomery Park. If you'd like to help your Kangaroo, then ask them to recite their "speech" the best they can. Here's a prompt that can guide you:
"Hello. My name is ______ I'm in the Kangaroo class. My big question is ______. Two of my materials were ______ and ______. One of my steps were to _____________. In conclusion, my hypothesis was __(correct/incorrect)__, because _________. Thank you for listening. Do you have any questions?"
We can't wait to see everyone there!

100th Day!
The 100th day of school is February 15th. The Kangaroos know several different ways count to hundred. To celebrate this day, we are asking all the Kangaroos to decorate a white t-shirt with 100 items on it. They can use 100 dots, 100 numbers, 100 letters, 100 stickers, etc. Be creative! Throughout the day (Feb. 15th), we will wear our shirts and take time to count them. Please send the shirts by Feb. 14th. If you have any questions please let me know.

Ice Skating Video / Science Fair Sign-Ups
Greetings Kangaroo families,
We have had a very exciting start to our new year. Every Tuesday, the Kangaroos have been taking ice skating lessons at the Lloyd Center rink. Here's a quick video of one of our adventures out:
As mentioned at the start of the school year, the Kangaroos are participating in the annual Science Fair at CLASS Academy. It's an exciting first experience, so we are looking forward to seeing the projects as they come in. While these are all to be done at home, the Kangaroos still need to sign up to get teacher approval (to avoid any duplicates). The sign up sheet is located on the blue pillar outside of Ms. Robinson's classroom.
Feel free to send us any questions or feedback recording your student's project. Most importantly, have fun and good luck!

Science Fair Requirements
The Science Fair is on Wednesday, March 13th at 6:30 pm, and will be
held across the street at Montgomery Park. Mark your calendars for the
event.
Scientific Method:
Big Question: What do I want to find out?
Hypothesis: What do I predict will happen?
Materials: What supplies will I use?
Procedure: What steps will I take to perform my experiment?
Data: What things can I count or measure?
Results: What happened? What did I see or observe?
Conclusion: Was my hypothesis correct? Why or why not?
Please remember, this needs to be an experiment, not a demonstration. An experiment will have answers to the above questions. A demonstration doesn’t have a hypothesis.
**Keep experiments simple so students can be more independent with the process and feel successful and confident in explaining their experiment at the Science Fair.
Timeline:
We have a suggested timeline for you to follow to keep the process moving smoothly. Please do not wait until the last minute. This should be an enjoyable experience. This whole process is to be done at home.
February 1-7: Search and choose experiment.
Friday, February 8th: Experiments should be written on the sign up sheet for teacher approval.
February 9-15: Gather materials and discuss procedure.
February 16-23: Choose hypothesis and perform experiment.
Take a lot of pictures!
Feb. 24 – March 2: Assemble science fair board at home. (Boards will be available in the office. Just ask someone in the office to check one out.)
Science fair boards must be completed and returned to school no later than Monday, March 4th.
What needs to be included on the science fair board?
All of the components of the scientific method should be displayed on the board. The students can write or type their information. Please include pictures on the board.
Should my student prepare a speech for their board?
Once the boards are completed and brought to school, we will be working on writing a speech for the science fair during class time. They will be practicing their speeches at school.
