Winter Update

Greetings,

Hope everyone is having a good holiday season.  We just wanted to update you on a few things:

*On Friday, December 14th, we will be having a Pajama / Movie Party.  Dress up in your comfy pjs!  The movie is the Polar Express, rated PG. Please let us know if you do NOT want your child to watch this with us, and we will find something else for them to do.

*There will be no homework sent home until we return from our break.  This includes no reading books being sent home.

*If you haven't already brought a book in for our book exchange (which is happening Friday), please do so ASAP.  Write  "To: A Friend" on it, please.

*Check out the blog in the next few days for our Kangaroo plays, as well as our Peace Concert videos at http://kangaroosclass.blogspot.com/

Happy Holidays!

Children's Museum Tomorrow! (Friday)

We're going to the Children's Museum tomorrow (Friday, October 26th).  Our bus leaves very soon after we start class at 8:30, so please be there promptly by 8:30 am.  Getting to school early is definitely a good idea, if you can.  :-)

The Kangaroos have been very busy in all their classes this week, but one class we will be updating more often (so you can ask your students questions) is science. Check back soon for pictures and slideshows from all of the projects we have been working on.

Carnival / Silent Auction

Greetings Kangaroo Families,

Here are some exciting Carnival/Silent Auction updates- please read!

1) The baskets are out and challenge has been made!
Every class that donates toward their class themed basket for the Carnival/Silent Auction will get a popcorn/movie party!  The class whose basket sells at the Silent Auction for the MOST money, will not only get the popcorn/movie party, but a free-dress day as well!
Our class basket theme is "Bookworm."  Let’s fill out basket up with some great items and win the prize!
Remember to watch the clearance aisles and closeouts- they are great places to find hidden treasures!

2) This year, the Carnival/Silent Auction committee is putting together a CLASS Academy Cook Book to raise money at the Silent Auction.  They would love to have each child submit their favorite recipe along with a photo of their student (if they want) to be added to the cook book!  Let’s show the school what the Kangaroos' favorite foods are!  Send your recipes to Mrs. Fairchild at classacademy@gmail.com !

3) The Carnival/Silent Auction is CLASS Academy’s ONLY FUNDRAISER each year!  We are still in need of donations for the Silent Auction!   Please pick up Auction Donation Forms and information on how to get donations from the office (on the front counter).  A silent auction is only as good as the donations received!

Thank you so much for your help and support!  We appreciate all you do to support our school!

Sincerely,

Mr. McLean and Ms. Robinson

Introducing... The Kangaroos!

Summer school has arrived, and the Kangaroos have been hard at work.  So far, we've created our own class mural, celebrated Flag Day, and jumped into science, writing, math and reading.  Below are just a few pictures of the projects we have worked on already.  Feel free to stop by our classrooms anytime to say hello.

Spring is Around the Corner!

Hello Parents!

As March begins to approach, we are gearing up for spring assessments and report cards. We only have a few months left to finish up our year together and it has been wonderful!

We do not have ice skating tomorrow, due to Valentine's Day. We have our last lesson the following Tuesday! We encourage you to come check out your student and their awesome skating abilities if you have not yet done so.

Please note, NO SCHOOL next Monday, February 20th. The teachers have an in-service.

The science fair is less than a month away! Hopefully everything is going well at home with the experiments. We have been conducting experiments during science class and have been working through the scientific method. Please ask if you have any questions.
Science boards need to be completed and returned to school in two weeks.

Note, the science fair is on Thursday, March 8th at 6:30 across the street at Montgomery Park.

Stay tuned for more! :)

Your Teachers,
Ms Scuderi and Ms Robinson

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! We are back and in full swing!
Please check the blog for updated curriculum.

In science, the Kangaroos and Wallabies are learning about hygiene, nutrition, and health. Lisa, Hannah's mom, came and talked to the students about proper teeth care.

The students got to see samples of real teeth! These teeth are rotten and have cavities, which is why it is SO important to brush TWO times a day and floss! :)

x-rays of teeth

Ice skating lessons will continue on Tuesdays, thru February 21st.

The Kangaroos and Wallabies are doing an AMAZING job!

Please keep checking back for updates and more photos!
